Healthy Chocolate Blueberry Smoothie

Sharing is caring!

I have been wanting to create some new smoothie recipes to share for quite a while, and it just felt right to make a Healthy Chocolate Blueberry Smoothie first. Why? Daily Harvest has a chocolate blueberry smoothie that I am obsessed with and I have been wanting to recreate it for a while. I’m happy to report… I NAILED IT.

Side note: I genuinely love Daily Harvest and think their products are SO handy to have stocked in the freezer, especially during crazy busy seasons of life. (AKA always, lol.) Are they 100% necessary for all people at all times? No. But when I haven’t had time to prep anything or run to the store and restock on certain things, or don’t have leftovers for work lunches, I am always glad to have some of these on hand! My affiliate code is WELLNESSFORTHEWIN and you can click here to read more about my favorite items from Daily Harvest.

are blueberry smoothies good for you?

Extremely! This smoothie is packed with nutrition AND it’s freaking delicious. Win-win!

Blueberries are one of the best sources of antioxidants, which help protect your body from damage by free radicals. Blueberries are also a good source of dietary fiber, vitamin C, vitamin K and more.

While the blueberries are the star of the show, you are getting tons of nutrition from the other ingredients in this smoothie, too! Additional fiber, vitamin A, vitamin K and potassium, from the banana and spinach, and heart healthy fats + vitamin E from the almond butter.

Cacao powder is also rich in flavonoids and other beneficial nutrients. Cocoa powder is less bitter than cacao powder, but it does lose some of its nutritional value during the processing in comparison. (However, you can use whichever one you prefer or have on hand for this recipe!)

the best blender for this healthy chocolate blueberry smoothie

Ethan and I got this blender as a wedding gift in September 2017 and 4.5 years later it is still going strong! I am seriously OBSESSED with this thing. It blends SO well, it’s not super bulky, easy to clean AND it’s extremely affordable, especially compared to some of the other blenders on the market these days!

Trust me – you will not be disappointed! If you need a new blender, get this one and thank me later!
