My Current Favorites: Part III
I knew I would do a bad job of following through with these posts. Forgive me, for I have completely slacked on sharing “My Current Favorites” since Part I and Part II back in January. In the past month and a half, we have sold our house, gone on vacation, moved into my parent’s house, and signed a contract to build a new house. Not to mention working full-time and living life and stuff. Needless to say, we have been a wee bit busy. I’ll be sharing a blog post soon with the full DL on how the building process has been so far. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this post where I am sharing My Current Favorites: Part III! Today I am sharing everything from fashion, to my favorite music at the moment, habits I’m breaking and more!
my current favorite Country Music
Okay, so some of this isn’t super new, but it’s new-ish to us. Ethan and I are legitimately obsessed with Jon Pardi and we listen to him 90% of the time we are in the car together. Lately, we have been branching out and adding some other artists into the mix that we are seriously loving. I am listing the artists and a few of our favorite songs of theirs below! If you are a country-lover too, you’ll be listening to these on repeat.
- Cody Johnson:
- Dance Her Home
- Bottle It Up
- Morgan Wallen:
- The Way I Talk
- If I Know Me
- Luke Combs:
- Beer Can
- Lil Nas X ft. Billy Ray Cyrus
- Old Town Road
- If you haven’t already heard this song, you’re welcome. I was skeptical at first, but now I love it lol.
Also, if you haven’t already listened to ALL of Jon Pardi’s songs (and you are a country music lover), you should go ahead and do that now. Especially Paycheck.
my current favorite makeup product: Buxom Lip Cream
I shared the Buxom Lip Gloss on one of my previous “Current Favorites” & I still absolutely love it. I recently bought some of their lip cream because it was 50% off during one of ULTA’s big sales. Initially I got the colors “White Russian” and “Pink Champagne”. I will be completely honest; those colors were NOT for me. They looked very white on my lips, which just isn’t a good look on my already fair-ish skin (when I don’t have a spray tan, of course).
I ended up exchanging them for two others that I LOVE. One of them is Hot Toddy, and the other is Dolly. The colors don’t look much like they do online. Hot Toddy is a lot less “brown” than it looks. They are both more of a mauve color. My favorite color of their glosses is Sophia! Did I mention these are also lip plumping? Not sticky, perfect amount of tingle, subtle plump. You need.
my current favorite swimsuit: Leopard One Piece
Ethan & I are leaving for Florida this week, so I have alllll the spring/summer clothes + swim attire on my mind right now. I got this leopard one-piece from none other than AMAZON and I’m in love with it. Several of you have bought it too and told me you are obsessed! It is so cute, flattering and affordable. I have multiple Bachelorette parties this year and I think it’ll be perfect for them! I ordered a small, so I’d say it is true to size!
Click here for the leopard one piece suit! You can also head to this link to see the “swimsuit” section of my Amazon page. I have several cute cover-ups and other one-pieces linked!
my current favorite spring item: Ae Jean Shorts
‘Tis the season for JEAN SHORTS. Can I get an amen?! Ugh, I’ve been beyond ready for warm weather and I’m so glad it’s finally here to stay.
I know good jean shorts (and jeans in general) can be hard to come by, so I had to share these. I genuinely love them. They are stretchy, comfy, and I wear them over and over in the summer because they go with everything. I am in a 4 regular. I typically wear a 2 or 4 at AE, so I’d say they are true to size, and if you are between sizes, go up.
Also, in case you’re living under a rock and haven’t checked out the jeans I wear and talk about nonstop, here they are yet again. I swear; these are the sisterhood of the traveling pants jeans. They fit & flatter ALL body types! So comfy, affordable and amazing. Trust me on this one!!! (I have a 4 regular in these; pictured below.)
my current favorite habit to break: wearing my Apple Watch
This is obviously not something you can buy for yourself. If you follow me on IG stories, you know that I have been taking a break from my Apple Watch over the past week or so, and it has felt so good! It all started because my phone updated, and then my watch was also due for an update. Now my Apple Watch won’t work AT ALL until I update it, and I honestly just keep forgetting to do it, but it has been really eye opening. I didn’t realize how much of a distraction it was for me at times, especially during workouts, and checking my steps frequently throughout the day. I have really enjoyed the break!
If you have a fitness watch and feel like you too are paying a little too much attention to the numbers, I would encourage you to take a break from it too! It is weird and challenging at first, but then it is super liberating. I’ll keep you posted on whether or not I start wearing it again. : )
my Current favorite shoes: ESPADRILLE SANDALS
I have never had shoes like these before, but I am in love! I just snagged these — once again, #AmazonFashion for the win. They are super comfortable, too! I wore them and walked around in them quite a bit this past weekend to put them to the test. Typically I wear a size 6 or 6.5 in shoes, and I got a 6.5 in these since I knew I could tighten the strap; however, I could’ve gotten away with the 6. So, they are true to size. They also come in a TON of colors, look identical to Steve Madden shoes I’ve seen, and are probably 1/3 of the price. Uh, yes please?
my current favorites: Tres Agaves Margarita Mix
I shared this on my IG stories last week and several people already bought some for themselves and loved it! Ethan and I love margaritas. That is usually our drink of choice if we are going to whip up a beverage at home. Our favorite tequila is Una Vida Tequila (we actually know the owner, he’s local!) and you can find it all over in KC.
When it comes to margarita mixes, most people settle for the Jose Cuervo stuff. No offense, but that stuff is “bleh” in comparison, in my opinion. This marg mix that I recently discovered is called Tres Agaves, and I found it at Target. It is more expensive, but I think it’s worth it.
They have a store locator on their site so you can see where to find it near you. (Not sponsored, by the way). Most drink mixes are full of high fructose corn syrup — which is fine, sometimes — but I love how natural this one is. It’s simply sweetened with agave nectar and made with real lime. It has less sugar than other options and tastes a lot fresher. I highly recommend, and will try to share our go-to marg recipe ASAP!
I hope you enjoyed this edition of My Current Favorites. I can’t wait to hear if you check some of these things out for yourself! : ) Please share this post with anyone you think might enjoy it, and tag me on IG if you try anything you saw here!
I hope you have the best week! Ethan & I are heading to FLORIDA tomorrow so follow along on IG if you want to be jealous of the beach, pool, delicious food, etc. 😉
Talk to you soon!
